Discover Scuba Dive

1 Day Beginner's Course

 Imagine what it's like to breathe underwater, to hover in a weightless world with marine life of all colours, shapes and sizes surrounding you. This one day snorkel and dive course is safe, fun and will leave you buzzed and keen for more!

 Join your PADI Instructor on a trip to one of the Outer Gulf Island's. Our dive boat is big, stable and comfortable with a hot shower, toilet and private changing area, with tea and coffee facilities.

Course schedule The Discover Scuba course runs regularly throughout the warmer months of the summer period. You first meet at Goat Island Dive and Snorkel, 10am where your PADI Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills needed to dive with a DVD and short presentation. We fit you with your snorkel and scuba equipment then it's time to set off. After an hours travel we arrive at the first Outer Island. We jump in, practice snorkelling skills and explore the stunning marine world from the surface. Next we head over to the second Outer Island dive site. Here you will do a full scuba dive under the direct supervision of your Instructor who will ensure that at all times you stay within your personal limits. You'll be surrounded by a myriad of colourful New Zealand Marine and fish life. Your dive time will depend on your level of fitness and comfort under the water. The more relaxed you are, the longer you get to stay under. What's included in the course Your Discover Scuba course includes your classroom, snorkel and scuba tuition and training. The fitting and hire costs of your dive equipment. 2. Then phone us on 0800 DIVE NZ (0800 348 369) or email dive@goatislanddive.co.nz to ensure space is available on your chosen course.

3. You will be asked for your personal details and credit card details to reserve your space. The course price will be charged on the day.

This course is an experience course that does not qualify you to dive. It is however recognized throughout the world and can be credited towards your Open Water Diver certification

Cancellation policy

Any cancellation calls due to weather are to be made by us. We have access to accurate weather forecasting information and have more than 10 years experience with local marine conditions.  Your safety is our priority. We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for any cancellation for any reason otherwise your card will be charged.
